Very expected game when 7th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (2-4) lost on the road to second ranked Hapoel Jerusalem (5-1) 74-59. The game was mostly controlled by Hapoel Jerusalem. Ironi Nes-Ziona was better in third quarter 18-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American Jerome Dyson (191-87, college: Connecticut) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. International power forward Richard Howell (203-90, college: N.Carolina St.) chipped in 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Nigerian power forward Talib Zanna (206-90, college: Pittsburgh, agency: 3Eye) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and American swingman Daequan Cook (196-87, college: Ohio St.) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Ironi Nes-Ziona's coach Nadav Zilberstein rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 5-1 record behind leader Maccabi T-A. Newly promoted Ironi Nes-Ziona dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Hapoel Jerusalem's next round opponent will be Bnei Hasharon (#8) in Hod Hasharon where they are favorite. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play at home against the league's leader Maccabi T-A and hope to win that game.
