Regular Season Round 6: Hapoel Holon - Maccabi Rishon 104-74
Date: November 12, 2017
The game in Holon supposed to be also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Maccabi Rishon (3-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Hapoel Holon (4-2). Hapoel Holon smashed Maccabi Rishon 104-74 on Sunday. The game without a history. Hapoel Holon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Hapoel Holon looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Naturalized American forward Joe Alexander (203-86, college: W.Virginia) notched 29 points to lead the effort and point guard Tamir Blatt (182-97) supported him with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Even a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds by American Mark Tollefsen (206-92, college: Arizona) did not help to save the game for Maccabi Rishon. His fellow American import Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) added 15 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hapoel Holon have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Ironi Nahariya. Loser Maccabi Rishon dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Galil Gilboa and Hapoel T-A. Hapoel Holon will meet Maccabi Ashdod (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi Rishon will play against Ironi Nahariya (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
