Regular Season Round 7: Jamtland II - KFUM Central 97-87

There was a minor upset in Ostersund where 6th ranked KFUM Central (3-3) was defeated by eighth ranked Jamtland II (3-3) 97-87 on Sunday. Jamtland II shot 61.0 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Jamtland II looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for forward Daniel Johansson (198-98) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points (on 12-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard John Palsson (189-99) helped adding 22 points. Four Jamtland II players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Nils Hedstrom (190-83) responded with 19 points and swingman Tecle Bymnet (190-96, college: San Francisco CC) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Jamtland II. They moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated KFUM Central. Jamtland II will face KFUM Lidingo (#7) at home in the next round.
