Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both second ranked Basket Barcellona and one of their biggest challengers Palestrina had identical 6-1 record. This time Basket Barcellona used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Roma 84-67 on Sunday night. Basket Barcellona made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was point guard Giovanni Bruni (185-82, agency: Interperformances) who scored 27 points and 6 assists. Power forward Luigi Brunetti (205-88) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Bosnian-Serbian power forward Njegos Visnjic (200-79) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and the former international power forward Alessandro Paesano (203-93) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Basket Barcellona maintains second position in B with 7-1 record behind leader Cento, which they share with Piacenza. Loser Palestrina keeps the third place with two games lost. Basket Barcellona will face Venafro (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Palestrina will play against Sestu (#9) and hope to win that game.
