Regular Season Round 7: Virtus Bologna - Germani BR 74-76

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Serie A took place in Bologna. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 6th ranked Virtus Bologna (3-4) to top-ranked Germani BR (7-0) 76-74 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. International swingman Alessandro Gentile (200-92) produced 13 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Stefano Gentile (191-89) added 10 points and 9 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Germani BR have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 7-0 record. Virtus Bologna lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with four games lost. They share the position with 5 other teams. Germani BR are looking forward to face MIA-RO Cantu (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Virtus Bologna will play against Vanoli Cremona (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
