Regular Season Round 7: TuNMKY - Jarvenpaa 91-85

Very expected game in Turun where 11th ranked Jarvenpaa (1-5) was defeated by second ranked TuNMKY (7-1) 91-85 on Sunday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Jarvenpaa trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 13 after three quarters before a 16-9 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 85-91 at the end of the game. TuNMKY looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for center Mikael Sandberg (210-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks. Guard Eero Innamaa (188-98) helped adding 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (193-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and Villematti Kopio (183-92) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Four TuNMKY and five Jarvenpaa players scored in double figures. TuNMKY maintains second place in Division with 7-1 record having just one point less than leader HBA-Marsky. Loser Jarvenpaa keeps the eleventh position with five games lost. TuNMKY will have a break next round. Jarvenpaa will play at home against the league's leader HBA-Marsky (#1) and hope to win that game.
