There was no surprise in Venezia where 12th ranked Marghera (2-5) was defeated by third ranked Costa Masnaga (6-1) 75-65. Costa Masnaga dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Marghera's 36. Costa Masnaga forced 19 Marghera turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for American center Camille Mahlknecht (190-93, college: CS Northridge) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Guard Valentina Baldelli (169-89) accounted for 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Four Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. Naturalized Argentinian forward Florencia Llorente (182-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds and guard Sara Toffolo (184-0) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Marghera in the defeat. Costa Masnaga moved-up to second place in A2. Marghera at the other side dropped to the thirteenth position with five games lost. Costa Masnaga's next round opponent will be Carugate (#12) in Corugate and are hoping to win another game. Marghera will play on the road against Bolzano and hope to win that game.
