Regular Season Round 8: Real Madrid - FC Barcelona 80-84

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Real Madrid (7-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by fourth ranked FC Barcelona (6-2) 84-80. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Real Madrid. Real Madrid was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Worth to mention a great performance of French Adrien Moerman (202-88) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Rakim Sanders (196-89, college: Fairfield) who added 13 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Slovenian guard Luka Doncic (201-99) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and the former international Felipe Reyes (204-80) scored 8 points and 10 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. FC Barcelona moved-up to third place, which they share with Obradoiro and Fuenlabrada. Real Madrid at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Valencia. FC Barcelona is looking forward to face league's second-placed Valencia Basket at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Real Madrid will play against Real Betis in Sevilla and is hoping to win this game.
