Regular Season Round 16: Fukushima - Aomori Watts 84-69

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Aomori Watts (2-13) were defeated on the road by second ranked Fukushima (11-4) 84-69. They made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Aomori Watts were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. American center Jarred Shaw (208-90, college: Utah St.) contributed with 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Nick Banyard (203-94, college: Cent.Florida) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Aomori Watts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Fukushima have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-4 record having just two points less than leader Cyberdyne IR, which they share with Ehime OV. Aomori Watts lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Iwate Big Bulls and Bambitious Nara. Fukushima will play against Shinshu BW (#3) in Nagano in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Aomori Watts will play at home against Dragonflies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
