Regular Season Round 8: Fjolnir - Hamar 94-108

There was a small surprise when sixth ranked Hamar (4-3) beat 4th ranked Fjolnir (4-4) in Reykjavik 108-94. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Thorgeir Gislason (188-95) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern) who added 23 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) during the contest. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard David Magnusson (183-99) responded with 27 points and 6 assists and forward Jon Baldvinsson (194-91) scored 22 points and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hamar moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Snaefell. Fjolnir at the other side dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Hamar will play against Gnupverjar (#7) in Reykjavik in the next round. Fjolnir will have a break next round.
