Premier League top team - Al-Ahli (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Samaheej (0-9) in Manama 100-59. Al-Ahli dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to Samaheej's 12. They outrebounded Samaheej 49-22 including a 35-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Al-Ahli looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Samaheej's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Al-Ahli made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Quinton Doggett (206-90, college: Southern) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Subah Hussain contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Four Al-Ahli players scored in double figures. Mohammed Busafwan replied with 23 points and 5 rebounds and Hussain Busafwan added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Samaheej. Al-Ahli have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 9-1 record. Samaheej at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. They share the position with Hidd. Al-Ahli will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Samaheej will play on the road against Sitra (#9) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
