There was no surprise in Kiryat Gat where 12th ranked Maccabi K/M (1-4) was defeated by fourth ranked Maccabi K/G (4-1) 93-86 on Tuesday. Maccabi K/G made 24-of-27 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Maccabi K/M was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was the former international center Robert Rothbart (217-86, agency: Octagon Europe) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. American-Azerbaijani forward Marshall Moses (198-89, college: Oklahoma St.) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Noam Matalon (197-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) produced 26 points and American swingman Folarin Campbell (189-86, college: George Mason) added 20 points and 9 assists respectively for the guests. Maccabi K/G moved-up to second place, which they share with Hap.R/G Givat. and Hap.Haifa. Newly promoted Maccabi K/M dropped to the tenth position with four games lost. Maccabi K/G will face Elitzur Yavne (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Maccabi K/M will play against Maccabi Raanana and hope to win that game.
