Regular Season Round 6: Tadamon - Homenetmen 83-97

Bottom-ranked Tadamon (0-6) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to third ranked Homenetmen (5-1) 97-83 on Tuesday evening. Strangely Tadamon outrebounded Homenetmen 45-32 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. Homenetmen looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Homenetmen made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) who scored 27 points and 7 rebounds. Tunisian Makram Ben-Romdhane (204-89) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Homenetmen players scored in double figures. Homenetmen's coach Joe Nebhan used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Vladan Vukosavljevic (206-84, agency: BeoBasket) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 14 rebounds and American point guard Patrick Rembert (185-89, college: Cal-Irvine) added 21 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Homenetmen moved-up to second place, which they share with Al Riyadi. Loser Tadamon still closes the standings with six games lost. Homenetmen will meet at home league's leader Champville in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tadamon will play against Beirut Club (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
