Regular Season Round 5: Elitzur K-A - Hap.Haifa 96-84

Date: November 14, 2017
The biggest surprise took place in Kiryat Ata where host Ironi Kiryat Ata (3-2) beat league's leader Hap.Haifa (4-1) 96-84 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Hap.Haifa. It was a great shooting night for Ironi Kiryat Ata especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. The best player for the winners was American forward Malik Cooke (201-89, college: S.Carolina, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 14 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Rodney Alexander (201-87, college: Illinois) chipped in 16 points and 6 rebounds. Four Ironi Kiryat Ata players scored in double figures. American swingman LaMarcus Reed (196-88, college: Texas Arlington) produced 26 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Hap.Haifa's coach Sharon Avrahami rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ironi Kiryat Ata moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Hapoel B/S. Hap.Haifa at the other side dropped to the second position with one game lost. They share it with Hap.R/G Givat. and Maccabi K/G. They were replaced at the leadership position by Macc.Rehovot. Hap.Haifa will play next round against Hapoel Afula trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Ironi Kiryat Ata will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Hap.R/G Givat. in Givataim.
