Regular Season Round 8: Tianjin GL - Jilin NE T. 116-104

There was a surprise result in Tianjin where nineteenth ranked Gold Lions (2-6) beat higher ranked Jilin Tigers (2-6) 116-104 on Tuesday. Gold Lions made 20-of-22 free shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Elijah Holman (208-89, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 15 rebounds and American-Ukrainian point guard Eugene Jeter (180-83, college: Portland) who added 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. American forward Carl Landry (206-83, college: Purdue) responded with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Gold Lions and four Jilin Tigers players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gold Lions moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Jilin Tigers. Gold Lions will meet at home league's second-placed Flying Leopards in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Jilin Tigers will play against Brave Dragons (#15) in Taiyuan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
