Regular Season Round 12: Kauhajoki - KTP Basket 65-79

Bottom-ranked KTP-Basket managed to get a fourth victory. This time they won against fourth-ranked Kauhajoki 79-65. The game was mostly controlled by KTP-Basket. Kauhajoki was better in second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Kauhajoki 41-24 including a 35-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Americans were the main players on the court. The winners were led by center Kenneth Simms (206-86, college: Cumberland, agency: Interperformances) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and guard Mandell Thomas (188-93, college: Fordham) supported him with 20 points and 5 rebounds. Five KTP-Basket players scored in double figures. Even 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Marcus Allen (191-94, college: Stanford) did not help to save the game for Kauhajoki. Forward Stephen Maxwell (201-93, college: CS Northridge, agency: Two Points) added 23 points and 6 rebounds. KTP-Basket (4-8) moved-up to eighth place. Kauhajoki at the other side keeps the fourth position with five games lost. KTP-Basket will play against Joensuun Kataja (#9) at home in the next round. Kauhajoki will play against Helsinki Seagulls (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
