Regular Season Round 10: Peja - Borea 102-91

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Peja: Peja (#5) and Borea (#6). Peja (5-4) won against visiting Borea (2-8) 102-91. Peja dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Borea's 40. Peja forced 19 Borea turnovers and outrebounded them 47-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. International guard Arian Qallaku (195-92) notched 41 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and international point guard Leonard Mekaj (182-95) supported him with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Peja players scored in double figures. Even 35 points (!!!) and 8 assists by point guard Shpend Gashi (184-88) did not help to save the game for Borea. Sami Hajzeri (193-92) added 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for lost side. Peja maintains fifth position with 5-4 record. Borea lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Trepca and Kerasan. Peja will play against higher ranked Rahoveci (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Borea will play against Kerasan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
