Regular Season Round 8: Beijing D. - Shanghai S. 108-98

There was a minor upset when higher ranked Sharks (5-3) were defeated on the road by tenth ranked Beijing Ducks (5-3) 108-98 on Wednesday. Beijing Ducks dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Sharks' 50. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Aaron Jackson (190-86, college: Duquesne) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists and Croatian-American center Justin Hamilton (213-90, college: LSU) who added 28 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Beijing Ducks players scored in double figures. American point guard Jimmer Fredette (188-89, college: BYU) responded with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and his fellow American import Nick Minnerath (207-88, college: Detroit Mercy) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Beijing Ducks moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Sharks. Beijing Ducks will meet at home Sturgeons (#12) in the next round where they are favorite. Sharks will play against Bayi Rockets (#20) and hope to secure a win.
