Regular Season Round 8: Porvoon Tarmo - Pyrinto II 60-80

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Porvoon Tarmo (1-7) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Pyrinto II (4-4) 80-60 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Pyrinto II. Porvoon Tarmo was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pyrinto II dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Porvoon Tarmo's 22. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Porvoon Tarmo's players. The best player for the winners was swingman Kristian Rasinaho (192-93) who scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Antti Keski-Koukkari (192-90) chipped in 19 points. Forward Elias Lahdensuu (193-98) produced 18 points and 5 rebounds and Joona Tuomala (197-97) added 10 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Pyrinto II moved-up to fifth place in Division. Loser Porvoon Tarmo keeps the twelfth position with seven games lost. Pyrinto II will face higher ranked ToPo (#3) in Helsinki in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Porvoon Tarmo will play on the road against Ura Basket (#4) in Kaarina and hope to win that game.
