Regular Season Round 7: Valga - Tartu Ulikool 91-87

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Tartu Ulikool (2-3) was defeated on the road by second ranked Valga (5-1) 91-87. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Tartu Ulikool won third quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for guard Edgars Lasenbergs (189-95) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Guard Kristaps Miglinieks (196-90) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. The former international forward Kristjan Kitsing (205-90, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 24 points and the former international point guard Tanel Sokk (187-85) added 14 points and 9 assists respectively for Tartu Ulikool in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Valga maintains second place with 5-1 record behind leader Kalev/Cramo. Tartu Ulikool at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Valga will play against TLU/Kalev (#4) in Tallinn in the next round. Tartu Ulikool will play at home against Rapla and hopes to get back on the winning track.
