Regular Season Round 8: Jarvenpaa - HBA-Marsky 64-83

Undefeated leader HBA-Marsky delivered the eighth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 11th ranked Jarvenpaa (1-6) 83-64. The game was mostly controlled by HBA-Marsky. Jarvenpaa was better in third quarter 26-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HBA-Marsky forced 21 Jarvenpaa turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Forward Mikael Jantunen (203-0) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Elias Valtonen (198-99) contributed with 11 points for the winners. Four HBA-Marsky players scored in double figures. Cameroonian forward Arsene Towa (193-81) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Leo Tarjanne (190-95) added 17 points in the effort for Jarvenpaa. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. HBA-Marsky maintains first position in Division with 8-0 record. Jarvenpaa at the other side keeps the eleventh place with six games lost. HBA-Marsky will play against Oulun NMKY (#9) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Jarvenpaa will play against Oulun NMKY and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
