It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Hokkaido L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hokkaido L. made 7 blocks. Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) contributed with 5 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. International Yudai Baba (193-95) replied with 22 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American center Alex Kirk (211-91, college: N.Mexico, agency: Pensack Sports) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Toyota Alvark. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Hokkaido L. moved-up to second place, which they share with Kyoto Hannar. Toyota Alvark at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. Hokkaido L. is looking forward to face Shimane Magic (#6) on the road in the next round. Toyota Alvark will play against the league's leader Aishin Sea Horses (#1) in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
