Regular Season Round 15: CDE Talca - Osorno 110-83

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Osorno Basquetbol (3-11) was crushed on the road by third ranked Espanol de Talca (9-7) 110-83 on Friday. Espanol de Talca made 27-of-35 free shots (77.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Osorno Basquetbol was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Terrence Shannon (203-79, college: Elgin CC) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 13 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Pablo Barraza (184-94) chipped in 26 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American Durrell Summers (193-89, college: Michigan St.) who recorded 35 points (!!!) and swingman Rodrigo Munoz (186-80) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Five Espanol de Talca and four Osorno Basquetbol players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Osorno Basquetbol lost their eighth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 11 games lost. Espanol de Talca will face league's leader Las Animas in Valdivia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Osorno Basquetbol will play on the road against Universidad de Concepcion (#3) and hope to win that game.
