Regular Season Round 17: Gunma - Toyotsu FE 81-87

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Toyotsu FE (10-7) defeated on the road 5th ranked Gunma (8-9) 87-81 on Friday. Toyotsu FE made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: Washington St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Herbert Hill (208-84, college: Providence) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit Mercy) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Masashi Obuchi (182-83) added 10 points and 9 assists in the effort for Gunma. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Toyotsu FE. They keep a position of league leader. Gunma lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the fifth place with nine games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
