Regular Season Round 9: Jiangsu D. - Sichuan BW 125-95

The game between third ranked Jiangsu Dragons (7-2) and 17th ranked Blue Whales (2-7) in Nanjing on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Jiangsu Dragons outscored guests from Sichuan 125-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Blue Whales. Jiangsu Dragons dominated down low during the game scoring 84 of its points in the paint compared to Blue Whales' 54 and made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Jiangsu Dragons forced 19 Blue Whales turnovers and outrebounded them 45-28 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Jiangsu Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) nailed 38 points (!!!) and 8 assists for the winning side and Serbian center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) accounted for 26 points and 14 rebounds. Iranian center Hamed Haddadi (218-85) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists and American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St., agency: Slash Sports) added 27 points respectively for Blue Whales in the defeat. Five Jiangsu Dragons and four Blue Whales players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Jiangsu Dragons have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Blue Whales dropped to the sixteenth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Jilin NE T. and Tianjin GL. Jiangsu Dragons will meet at home Xinjiang Flying Tige (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Blue Whales will play against Monkey Kings (#13) in Jiangsu and hope to secure a win.
