The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Gimnasia LP as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (CA Platense) loss. Gimnasia LP edged 3rd ranked Parque Sur in La Plata 84-81. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Howard Wilkerson (198-84, college: Wofford) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds. Point guard Leonardo La-Bella (180-86) contributed with 19 points and 7 assists for the winners. Guard Elnes Bolling (189-91) replied with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Augustin Richard (176-90) added 16 points and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) in the effort for Parque Sur. Five Parque Sur players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Atenas Carmen. Parque Sur at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with Villa Mitre CF. Parque Sur will play next round against CA Temperley trying to get back on the winning streak. Gimnasia LP will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Rocamora on the road.
