Regular Season Round 8: AIK Basket - Lulea Basket 53-83

Damligan top team - Lulea Basket (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked AIK Basket (1-7) in Solna 83-53. Lulea Basket made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game, while AIK Basket only scored 0 point from the stripe. They outrebounded AIK Basket 42-26 including a 28-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Katherine Frerking (185-95, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) who scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international forward Allis Nystrom (184-93) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Five Lulea Basket players scored in double figures. Point guard Crystel Bittar (170-98) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Johanna Prytz (187-96) added 8 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lulea Basket have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-0 record. AIK Basket lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth place with seven games lost. Lulea Basket's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Udominate in Umea and it will be for sure the game of the week. AIK Basket will play on the road against IK Eos (#4) in Lund and hope to win that game.
