Regular Season Round 14: Ryukyu GK - Nagoya DD 67-64

Fourth-ranked Diamond Dolphins (6-11) were very close to win a game against first ranked Ryukyu GK (12-5) in Okinawa. Ryukyu GK managed to secure only three-point victory 67-64. However their fans expected easier game. Ryukyu GK brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. American center Hilton Armstrong (210-84, college: Connecticut) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Shota Tsuyama (178-96) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. American forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and guard Takaya Sasayama (178-93) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Ryukyu GK have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 12-5 record, which they share with Chiba Jets. Diamond Dolphins at the other side dropped to the fifth place with 11 games lost. Ryukyu GK will play against Yokohama BC (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Diamond Dolphins will play against the league's second-placed Kyoto Hannar. and hope to get back on the winning track.
