Regular Season Round 14: Kyoto Hannar. - Chiba Jets 60-82

There was a small surprise when second ranked Chiba Jets (12-5) rolled over on the road second-ranked Kyoto Hannar. (9-8) 82-60 on Saturday. Chiba Jets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). The other American import forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. American center Joshua Smith (208-92, college: Georgetown) replied with 15 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Nagayoshi Yuya (199-91) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kyoto Hannar.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Chiba Jets used an opportunity after Ryukyu GK lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Loser Kyoto Hannar. keeps the second place with eight games lost. Chiba Jets will face league's second-placed Niigata Albirex on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kyoto Hannar. will play against Diamond Dolphins in Nagoya and hope to win that game.
