Regular Season Round 7: Bretagne Basket - Reze 75-50

Very expected game when 11th ranked Reze (1-6) was smashed by fourth ranked Bretagne Basket (5-2) in Pleyber-Christ 75-50 on Saturday. Bretagne Basket made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Bretagne Basket outrebounded Reze 40-25 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 4 passes made by Reze's players. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Elodie Naigre (182-95) who led the winners and scored 7 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Pauline Lithard (168-94) accounted for 7 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. Ivorian forward Kany Kouyate (178-90) came up with 14 points and 5 steals and the former international power forward Jennifer Digbeu (190-87) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Reze in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Bretagne Basket. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Charnay and Toulouse. Reze lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with CFBB. Bretagne Basket will meet Avenir (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Reze will play against the league's second-placed Charnay (#2) and hope to win that game.
