Regular Season Round 8: ViVe - Honka 75-84

An interesting game for Tapiolan Honka (6-1) which played road game in Vimpeli against one of their biggest challengers ViVe (5-3). Third ranked Tapiolan Honka managed to get a 9-point victory 84-75. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 28-20. But ViVe won second period 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Tapiolan Honka made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. American guard Kiana Johnson (171-93, college: Virginia Union) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points and 6 rebounds. International swingman Heta Korpivaara (185-84, college: Seton Hall) contributed with 21 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Pachis Roberts (180-94, college: Georgia) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Avyanna Young (185-93, college: Wisconsin) added 18 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for ViVe. Five Tapiolan Honka and four ViVe players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Tapiolan Honka maintains third position with 6-1 record behind leader PeKa. ViVe at the other side keeps the fourth place with three games lost. They share the position with HyPo. Tapiolan Honka are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Aanekosken (#10) in Aanekoski in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ViVe will play on the road against the league's second-placed Catz Lappeenranta (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
