Very expected game when 12th ranked Carugate (2-6) lost on the road to second ranked Costa Masnaga (7-1) 65-56 on Saturday. Costa Masnaga forced 24 Carugate turnovers. American center Camille Mahlknecht (190-93, college: CS Northridge) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Giulia Rulli (184-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Costa Masnaga's coach Pierangelo Rossi used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Laura Rossi (173-97) replied with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and power forward Cecilia Albano (183-96) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Carugate. Costa Masnaga maintains second position in A2 with 7-1 record behind leader Sesto SG. Loser Carugate dropped to the thirteenth place with six games lost.
