Regular Season Round 10: Gorizont II - Gomel-Sozh 43-68

The game in Minsk supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Gomel-Sozh (4-3) played at the court of 7th ranked Gorizont II (1-8). Gomel-Sozh smashed Gorizont II 68-43 on Saturday. The game without a history. Gomel-Sozh led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Gorizont II to just 6 points in second quarter. Gomel-Sozh dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Gorizont II's 22. Gomel-Sozh forced 30 Gorizont II turnovers and outrebounded them 49-36 including 17 on the offensive glass. Center Alesia Lalovich (188-79) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Yulya Haponava (185-94) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Aleksandra Ratnikova (166-0) produced 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Darya Semiletnikova (-1) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gomel-Sozh maintains fourth position with 4-3 record. Gorizont II lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with eight games lost. Gomel-Sozh will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Gorizont II will play again against Gomel-Sozh (#4) and hope to win that game.
