There was a small surprise in Starogard Gdanski where ninth ranked Polpharma (5-2) defeated 7th ranked PGE Turow (5-4) 84-80. PGE Turow was ahead by 10 points after three quarters before a 31-17 charge of Polpharma, which allowed them to win the game. They made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by PGE Turow helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The winners were led by American guard Joe Thomasson (193-93, college: Wright St.) who scored that evening 17 points and 9 assists and Serbian power forward Milan Milovanovic (205-91, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists by American center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) did not help to save the game for PGE Turow. Naturalized Puerto Rican point guard Francis-Jonathan Han (185-87, college: Fairfield) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Four PGE Turow players scored in double figures. PGE Turow's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Polpharma moved-up to fifth place. PGE Turow at the other side dropped to the eighth position with four games lost. Polpharma's next round opponent will be Czarni (#14) in Slupsk and are hoping to win another game. PGE Turow will play at home against MKS Dabrowa Gornicza (#3) and hope to win that game.
