No shocking result in a game when top-ranked Pinheiros (3-0) beat bottom-ranked SKY/Basquete (0-2) in Sao Paulo 92-79 on Saturday. Pinheiros shot 62.0 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for American guard Cordero Bennett (188-88) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-4 shooting from the field). The other American import guard Desmond Holloway (191-90, college: Co.Carolina) contributed with 18 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Pinheiros players scored in double figures. Pinheiros' coach Cesar Guidetti used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Naturalized Italian point guard Paulinho Boracini (183-84) replied with 30 points and the former international Betinho Nardi-Duarte (195-88) added 17 points in the effort for SKY/Basquete. Pinheiros have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Mogi. Loser SKY/Basquete still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
