Regular Season Round 9: Albacete - Granada 65-77

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Albacete (7-2) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked CB Granada (6-3) 77-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Albacete. The game without a history. CB Granada led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Albacete 45-28 including a 32-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for power forward Devin Wright (202-86) who led his team to a victory with 8 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized Argentinian forward Alejandro Bortolussi (202-89) contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. American guard Garret Covington (196-94, college: W.Illinois, agency: Two Points) answered with 25 points and Jose Ortega (188-97) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Albacete. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CB Granada moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Albacete at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Myrtia. CB Granada is looking forward to face Real Canoe (#12) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Albacete will play on the road against Moron (#8) in MorĂ³n de la Frontera and is hoping to win this game.
