Regular Season Round 10: Gries/Oberhoffen - Saint-Quentin 100-89

An interesting game for Gries/Oberhoffen (8-2) which hosted in Bischwiller one of their biggest challengers Saint-Quentin (7-3). Second ranked Gries/Oberhoffen managed to get a 11-point victory 100-89. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Saint-Quentin. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Gries/Oberhoffen made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American forward Demond Watt (200-89, college: Texas A&M-CC) had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Spanish forward Asier Zengotitabengoa (201-88) chipped in 22 points during the contest. At the losing side Lamine Kante (200-87) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and Canadian-British power forward Maurice Walker (208-91, college: Minnesota) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Five Gries/Oberhoffen and four Saint-Quentin players scored in double figures. Gries/Oberhoffen maintains second position with 8-2 record having just two points less than leader Saint Vallier, which they share with Chartres. Saint-Quentin at the other side dropped to the fourth place with three games lost. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against Orchesien BC (#16) in Orchies in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saint-Quentin will play at home against ALS Basket (#8) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
