Regular Season Round 16: AB Ancud - Puente Alto 73-74

A very close game took place in Ancud between Puente Alto and AB Ancud. Fifth ranked Puente Alto (7-9) got a very close victory on the road over much higher ranked AB Ancud (11-6). Puente Alto managed to escape with a 1-point win 74-73 on Saturday evening. Puente Alto dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to AB Ancud's 26. The winners were led by Venezuelan forward Juan Coronado (203-90, college: Liberty) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb) supported him with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Puente Alto's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 17 points and 9 rebounds by Argentinian forward Donovan Johnson-Marshall (201-92, college: Ky Wesleyan) did not help to save the game for AB Ancud. American center Arkeem Joseph (206-94, college: Texas A&M Int.) added 12 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Four Puente Alto and five AB Ancud players scored in double figures. Puente Alto maintains fifth position with 7-9 record. Loser AB Ancud keeps the second place with six games lost. Puente Alto will meet at home higher ranked Universidad de Concepcion (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. AB Ancud will play against Osorno Basquetbol and hope to secure a win.
