Regular Season Round 17: Sendai 89ers - Kanazawa Sam. 75-67

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kanazawa Sam. (8-8) against fourth ranked Sendai 89ers (7-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Kanazawa Sam. was defeated by Sendai 89ers in a tough game in Sendai 67-75. It was a great shooting night for Sendai 89ers especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. U.S. Virgin Islands center Craig Williams (206-89, college: TCU) nailed a double-double by scoring 16 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and South Sudanese-American forward Angelo Chol (206-93, college: San Diego St., agency: Two Points) accounted for 8 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Andrew Fitzgerald (202-90, college: Oklahoma) came up with 29 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ide Yuji (181-88) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Kanazawa Sam. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sendai 89ers moved-up to third place, which they share with Hiroshima D. Newly promoted Kanazawa Sam. keeps the third position with eight games lost. They share it with Shinshu BW. Sendai 89ers will again meet at home Kanazawa Sam. (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Kanazawa Sam. will have a break next round.
