Regular Season Round 8: Bolzano - Marghera 41-66

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Marghera (3-5) crushed on the road higher ranked Bolzano (3-4) 66-41 on Saturday. Marghera forced 21 Bolzano turnovers. Naturalized Argentinian forward Florencia Llorente (182-92) orchestrated the victory by scoring 11 points and 9 rebounds. Swingman Silvia Pastrello (181-1) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Marghera players scored in double figures. Croatian power forward Ivona Matic (189-86) replied with 13 points and 9 rebounds and naturalized Senegalese guard Safy Fall (176-89) added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Bolzano. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Marghera moved-up to tenth place in A2. Loser Bolzano dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Marghera will face higher ranked San Salvatore (#8) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
