Regular Season Round 8: Ensino - GDKO Bizkaia 66-61

There was a surprise result in Lugo where ninth ranked Maquinaria Ensino (5-4) beat higher ranked GDKO Bizkaia (5-3) 66-61 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 66-61. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Regina Gomez (173-82, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and Esther Castedo who added 15 points during the contest. Maquinaria Ensino's coach Fernando Buendia used entire bench in such tough game. American guard Peyton Ferris (175-93, college: Montana St.) responded with 16 points and swingman Maria Espana (180-92) scored 12 points. Maquinaria Ensino moved-up to seventh place in Group A. Loser GDKO Bizkaia keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Maquinaria Ensino will face ADBA (#10) in Aviles in the next round. GDKO Bizkaia will play at home against Arxil Pontevedra (#8) and hope to win that game.
