Regular Season Round 7: Toulouse - Montbrison 88-55

The game in Toulouse supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th placed Montbrison (4-3) played at the court of fifth ranked Toulouse (5-2). Toulouse smashed Montbrison 88-55 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Montbrison. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Toulouse dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Montbrison's 26. Toulouse forced 22 Montbrison turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Australian forward Mikaela Ruef (190-90, college: Stanford) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Sylvie Gruszczynski (173-86) accounted for 17 points and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Toulouse players scored in double figures. Toulouse's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international guard Emilie Duvivier (165-84) came up with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American power forward Patricia Bright (193-91, college: Oregon St., agency: LBM Management) added 11 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Montbrison in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Toulouse. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bretagne Basket and Charnay. Loser Montbrison dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with COB Calais. Toulouse will meet COB Calais (#5) on the road in the next round. Montbrison will play against SIG and hope to secure a win.
