Regular Season Round 7: Noorteliiga - Parnu 67-110

Bottom-ranked Noorteliiga (0-3) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their third consecutive match to sixth ranked Parnu (3-4) 110-67. The game without a history. Parnu led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Noorteliiga's 34. Parnu forced 22 Noorteliiga turnovers and had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Noorteliiga's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Tormi Niits (196-98) who led the winners and scored 25 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Point guard Siim-Markus Post (183-97) accounted for 16 points for the winning side. Four Parnu players scored in double figures. Point guard Eric Schmalz (183-99) came up with 19 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and center Hendry Engelbrecht (199-99) added 8 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Noorteliiga in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Parnu moved-up to fifth place. Noorteliiga at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Parnu will play against league's leader Kalev/Cramo in Tallinn in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Noorteliiga will have a break next round.
