Regular Season Round 7: Charnay - CFBB 78-57

Very predictable result when second ranked Charnay (5-2) rolled over 11th ranked CFBB (1-6) in Charnay-les-Macon 78-57 on Saturday. Charnay forced 21 CFBB turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by CFBB's players. It was an exceptional evening for Ivorian center Kariata Diaby (192-95) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Johanna Cortinovis (190-86) accounted for 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Charnay's coach felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Kenza Salgues (174-0) came up with 13 points and center Sixtine Macquet (191-0) added 12 points respectively for CFBB in the defeat. Newly promoted Charnay maintains second place with 5-2 record behind leader Angers, which they share with Bretagne Basket and Toulouse. CFBB lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eleventh position with six games lost. They share it with Reze. Charnay will meet bottom-ranked Reze (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CFBB will play against Arras and hope to win that game.
