Regular Season Round 14: Toyama Grouses - Toshiba BT 91-82

The game between closely ranked teams ended with one of their biggest challengers Toshiba Thunders' (11-6) road loss to second ranked Toyama Grouses (7-10) 82-91 on Saturday. American Drew Viney (204-88, college: Loyola Mary) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Naoki Uto (188-91) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four Toyama Grouses players scored in double figures. American power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) replied with 30 points and 6 rebounds and forward Takumi Hasegawa (190-89) added 17 points in the effort for Toshiba Thunders. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Toyama Grouses went down to third position due to points difference, which they share with San-en and Tochigi Brex. Loser Toshiba Thunders keep the third place with six games lost. Toyama Grouses will face Shiga L-Stars (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Toshiba Thunders will play against Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
