Regular Season Round 7: Vigarano - Battipaglia 87-65

Date: November 19, 2017
Bottom-ranked Battipaglia is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to sixth ranked Vigarano (3-4) 87-65 on Sunday evening. Vigarano looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Battipaglia's players. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Karlie Samuelson (183-95, college: Stanford, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Ghanian-American forward Batabe Zempare (188-94, college: CSU Bakersfield, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 18 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Vigarano's coach Luca Andreoli felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Jori Davis (175-89, college: Indiana) came up with 24 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and the other American import forward Ruvanna Campbell (189-93, college: Ill.-Chicago) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Battipaglia in the defeat. Vigarano maintains sixth place with 3-4 record, which they share with Napoli. Loser Battipaglia still closes the standings with seven games lost. Vigarano will meet at home Napoli (#6) in the next round. Battipaglia will play against Venezia (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
