Regular Season Round 8: KFUM Uppsala - Norrort 64-88

There was no surprise when 10th ranked KFUM Uppsala (1-6) was crushed at home by fourth ranked Taby Basket (6-1) 88-64 on Sunday. Taby Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Uppsala's 32. They outrebounded KFUM Uppsala 53-39 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard David Niklasson (193-95, college: N.Platte CC) who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. Center Marcus Friman (203-95) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Five Taby Basket players scored in double figures. Swingman Alan Zekovic (195-98, agency: Interperformances) produced 28 points and 6 rebounds and Marcus Stalberg (-2) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Taby Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. KFUM Uppsala lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
