Winner League top team - Maccabi T-A (7-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (2-5) in Nes Ziyona 98-68. The game was mostly controlled by Maccabi T-A. Ironi Nes-Ziona was better in third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi T-A made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Maccabi T-A outrebounded Ironi Nes-Ziona 40-29 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was a quality performance for naturalized American point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 4 steals. The former international Jake Cohen (208-90, college: Davidson) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. DiBartolomeo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. American swingman Jaron Johnson (198-92, college: Louisiana Tech) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds and naturalized Welsh Tal-Michael Dunne (198-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Hapoel Holon (#3) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
