Regular Season Round 18: Shinshu BW - Fukushima 94-80

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Fukushima (12-5) against fourth ranked Shinshu BW (9-8) on Sunday night. Visiting Fukushima was defeated by Shinshu BW in Nagano 94-80. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fukushima. Shinshu BW made 24-of-27 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. Fukushima was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Tim Dezelski (198-90, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) notched 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) supported him with 15 points and 6 rebounds. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. Shinshu BW's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds by Nigerian center Solomon Alabi (216-88, college: Florida St.) did not help to save the game for Fukushima. American guard Deon Jones (198-93, college: Monmouth) added 12 points. Shinshu BW moved-up to second place, which they share with Cyberdyne IR and Kanazawa Sam. Fukushima at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. They share it with Ehime OV and Kumamoto V.. Shinshu BW will play against Dragonflies (#4) in Hiroshima in the next round. Fukushima will play at home against Gunma and hopes to get back on the winning track.
