Regular Season Round 13: BC Nokia - Pyrinto 75-97

The biggest surprise of round 13 was guest Tampereen Pyrinto's (7-5) easy road victory over BC Nokia (#6) 97-75 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Tampereen Pyrinto led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to BC Nokia's 36 and made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Tampereen Pyrinto forced 21 BC Nokia turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by BC Nokia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American Brian Asbury (201-86, college: Miami, FL) fired 26 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. His fellow American import swingman Kenny Manigault (196-91, college: Pikeville) chipped in 17 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Tampereen Pyrinto players scored in double figures. Center Daniel Dolenc (205-93) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Vincent Council (186-90, college: Providence) added 13 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. BC Nokia's coach Ville Tuominen gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Tampereen Pyrinto have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Helsinki Seagulls. BC Nokia at the other side keeps the sixth position with six games lost. Tampereen Pyrinto is looking forward to face Lapuan Korikobrat (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. BC Nokia will play against Joensuun Kataja (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
